The controversial return of Pudgy Penguins founder ColeThereum

Share

Cole Villemain, co-founder of Pudgy Penguins, is returning to the NFT market with a new collection on Robinhood Chain after leaving the project in 2022 following allegations of treasury misuse. His track record includes multiple failures, most notably My Fucking Pickle, an NFT collection that crashed 98% from its June 2021 high above $540 to just $13. Robinhood Chain, the chosen platform for this new project, experienced significant issues shortly after its July launch, including wallet drainers, phishing pages, and collapsing memecoins. The crypto community remains divided, with some celebrating ColeThereum’s return while others warn against repeating past mistakes. Pudgy Penguins was ultimately sold to Luca Netz for 750 ETH (approximately $2.5 million), who successfully transformed the NFT project into a physical toy brand sold at major retailers including Walmart and Target.
