Wall Street: BlackRock Facilitates Access to Its Bitcoin ETF for Institutions

Asset manager BlackRock has lowered the minimum in-kind transaction threshold for its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) by 96 percent, reducing it from $25 million to $1 million. This decision allows institutional actors to access the in-kind exchange mechanism starting from a single basket unit, whereas previously they needed to build up seventeen times the size of a standard creation basket. IBIT remains the largest financial vehicle in its category in the United States with assets under management now exceeding $48 billion. This technical evolution brings the management of digital asset-backed products closer to the standards applicable to traditional commodity ETFs.
