Why Europe struggles to turn startups into tech giants, according to Arm co-founder

Europe has many startups but lacks global tech giants, according to Hermann Hauser, co-founder of Arm and Amadeus Capital. Hauser identifies three main obstacles: lack of growth capital, absence of experienced management, and limited access to critical technologies, risking turning Europe into a U.S. technology colony. He also warns that Q Day, when quantum computing could break current encryption systems, could arrive as early as 2029. Hauser also discusses new chip architectures designed to reduce AI’s energy consumption.
