Australian financial crime regulator AUSTRAC has suspended for three months, effective August 9, the registration of Cryptolink Pty Ltd as a Virtual Asset Service Provider, shutting down its 96 crypto ATMs. The company failed to meet basic reporting obligations, particularly for threshold transaction reports, and ignored AUSTRAC’s information requests. This sanction follows an enforceable undertaking and a fine of 56,340 Australian dollars already paid in October 2025. Australia now hosts roughly 1,800 crypto ATMs, the highest number in the Asia Pacific region, through which approximately 275 million Australian dollars move every year.
