Mark Zuckerberg published an essay outlining his vision for « personal superintelligence »: a 24/7 AI agent capable of monitoring sleep, observing workout sessions, and planning personalized recipes to bake with his 8-year-old daughter. His daughter is already learning to code and produce videos with the technology, and the two are jointly designing a robot. Sherry Turkle, director of MIT’s Initiative on Technology and Self, calls this vision « dystopian » and questions what an AI could do that a loving father could not accomplish himself. Meta faces multiple controversies, including an FTC inquiry in September 2025 into how AI chatbots protect minors, as the company had to implement parental controls and suspend teen access to its AI characters. Meta’s free cash flow dropped 91% to $784 million due to costs associated with its AI push.
