Lambda sells leveraged loan to finance chip deal amid AI boom

Lambda, an AI cloud infrastructure company, has secured a $1 billion syndicated senior secured credit facility arranged by J.P. Morgan. This represents a nearly fourfold increase from its previous $275 million facility established in August 2025. The funds will be used to deploy next-generation Nvidia AI accelerator servers and expand data center capacity. The company has also secured a multibillion-dollar partnership with Microsoft and raised $480 million in a Series D funding round in February 2025. This operation reflects a broader trend of financing the AI boom through traditional corporate debt markets rather than solely through venture capital and public equity.
