Anthropic has announced a partnership with Macquarie Asset Management and Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC to create a dedicated data center infrastructure platform. The joint venture, called Theseus Infrastructure, will develop, operate and lease purpose-built data centers to Anthropic under long-term contracts. The group will first develop new sites in the United States, where Anthropic will be the anchor customer. The data centers will involve substantial capital spending and create thousands of construction and permanent operational jobs. Anthropic has committed to absorbing electricity cost increases to protect consumers.
