Dutch startup Vangrid raised $9 million in a token funding round to build a decentralized spatial intelligence network based on crowdsourced 3D mapping data. The network turns ordinary smartphones into edge nodes that capture 3D spatial data through cameras and sensors, process it on-device, and push verified data onchain. Investors include HashKey, Animoca Brands, Crypto.com Capital, Gate Labs, Borderless, and Mapleblock. The system runs on Base with USDC settlements and a VANGRID token deployed on both Ethereum and Base chains. The company has signed memorandums of understanding with data partners and is actively engaging with defense and robotics platforms.
