Former FBI supervisor admits guilt in $1M crypto theft

Patrick Steven Yaroch, a former FBI supervisory agent, pleaded guilty to stealing approximately $1 million in digital assets from an adversarial country. He used internal bureau systems to obtain cryptocurrency wallet credentials and made 10 unauthorized transfers between late 2024 and early 2025. Some of the funds were deposited on the DeFi platform Suilend to earn yield. After self-reporting the incident, he was placed on administrative leave, terminated and arrested. Agents recovered approximately $925,000 that was transferred to government-controlled wallets.
