According to a Gallup poll released Tuesday, Americans are growing increasingly skeptical of artificial intelligence after two years of improving attitudes. Seven in ten Americans now say they are at least partially informed about AI, up from 64% in 2024. Thirty-nine percent believe AI does more harm than good, compared to 31% in 2025. Nearly eight in ten Americans expect AI to reduce the number of U.S. jobs over the next decade, up from 73% in 2025. Trust in businesses to use AI responsibly has declined from 31% to 27%, with a steeper drop among adults aged 18-29, falling from 30% to 20%.
