Zimbabwe admits seven fintech projects to regulatory sandbox

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe approved on July 24 the entry of seven fintech projects into its regulatory sandbox, including blockchain platforms, tokenization tools, and crowdfunding solutions. The approved participants include Zimbabwe Entrepreneurship Exchange, Ndarama Standard, Questview Brokers, Crowdaxe Capital, and Procode Platforms. This initiative complements the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s own sandbox launched in March 2021 and the Virtual Assets Act adopted in 2025. Companies admitted will be able to test their projects in real conditions under regulatory supervision, without obtaining any guarantee of final commercial licensing. Projects that fail to meet standards during the testing phase could be shelved.
