Long-term bitcoin holders currently hold a record 16.83 million BTC, representing 83.9% of the circulating supply. This figure surpasses the previous record of 16.22 million set in December 2023, when BTC was trading below $45,000. Out of the maximum 21 million bitcoins, approximately 20.06 million have already been mined. This concentration of supply among inactive investors may amplify market movements, both upward and downward, depending on the balance between demand and long-term holders’ willingness to sell.
