BitMart announced Sunday the shutdown of its trading platform after nine years of operation. All trading will cease on August 26 and the platform will formally close on January 31, 2027. Its BMX token has crashed 81% over the past week, cutting its market cap to approximately $19.5 million. The exchange had suffered a $196 million hot-wallet hack in December 2021. BitMart becomes the second major exchange to announce its closure in a week, following BitMEX.
