Crude oil prices fall as US equity futures and Aussie dollar strengthen

Crude oil prices, particularly Brent and WTI, fell on Monday as U.S. equity index futures rose and Treasury yields and precious metals advanced. The Australian dollar outperformed all G-10 currencies against the greenback. This shift reflects waning risk appetite, driven by easing concerns over Middle East supply disruptions and improved flows through the Strait of Hormuz. Implied odds on prediction markets now sit at 6 percent for crude oil reaching a new all-time high by September 30, down from 8 percent earlier.
