The European Union has added HTX to its sanctions list as part of its 21st sanctions package targeting Russia. Starting August 23, all transactions between EU citizens or entities and this platform will be prohibited. HTX, formerly known as Huobi, is among 18 crypto entities targeted, accused of helping circumvent Western sanctions. This ban does not constitute a full asset freeze but prohibits any business relationship with persons under EU jurisdiction. The platform reported $3.3 trillion in trading volume throughout 2025.
