The World Foundation, the non-profit organization governing the World network (formerly Worldcoin), raised $52.5M by selling 217.4M WLD tokens to strategic investors including Pantera Capital, Selini Capital, Bain Capital Crypto, and Eightco Holdings. The estimated sale price of $0.2415 per token represents approximately a 40% discount from Friday’s price. Following the announcement, the WLD token dropped 9%, finding support around $0.30 with a potential floor at $0.25. Exchange selling pressure has tripled since June, rising from 18M to nearly 60M tokens, though it has recently declined to 40M. The project also announced a 43% reduction in daily token emissions starting July 24th, dropping from 5.1M to 2.9M WLD per day.
