June 2026 was particularly difficult with $4.5 billion in outflows, the largest single-month exit on record for these products. BlackRock’s IBIT contributed significantly to this trend, with $1.34 billion in redemptions in just one week. Analysts attribute the outflows to Bitcoin’s price performance and growing competition from AI-related assets.
