The XRP Ledger now integrates Mastercard’s Verifiable Intent standard, enabling AI agents to perform secure autonomous payments. The x402 facilitator by t54.ai, operational since February 2026, allows AI agents to pay for services using XRP and RLUSD without an API key or account. This cryptographic standard answers three essential questions: who authorized the payment, under what limits, and for exactly which transaction. Ripple joined Mastercard’s Agent Pay for Machines initiative in June 2026 to accelerate adoption. Over 1.4 million agentic transactions have been processed through the x402 facilitator on the XRP Ledger.
