Star, founder and CEO of OKX, revealed that he was contacted by Sam Bankman-Fried hours before FTX’s collapse to raise emergency funds. SBF initially asked for 1 billion dollars before calling back 24 hours later to increase his request to 3 billion dollars. Star declined the offer, realizing that FTX’s problems went beyond a simple temporary liquidity shortage. The OKX leader shared his vision of Bitcoin as the anchor of the blockchain economy, stating that every portfolio should contain 10% to 20% in Bitcoin. OKX is preparing for an IPO and has been publishing monthly reserve proofs since 2022.
