Foundation Robotics is equipping its Phantom line of humanoid robots with AMD Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series processors, claimed to deliver 2.5 times faster inference and three times faster training than competing Nvidia chips. The Phantom MK-1 was first deployed in Ukraine for reconnaissance missions in February 2026, with the MK-2 being the first model built around AMD hardware from the ground up. The company has secured 24 million dollars in US Department of Defense contracts. A new factory is expected to open in October 2026 with an initial capacity of 5,000 units per year, scaling to 50,000 units annually by early 2027. Financially, this partnership represents a marginal impact for AMD, which generates billions in annual revenue.
