The latest draft bans officials and their families from issuing or promoting cryptocurrency, addressing Democratic concerns about the Trump family’s crypto ventures. The Crypto Council for Innovation, the Blockchain Association, and the Digital Chamber also backed the bill, which is considered the first comprehensive federal consumer protection framework for digital asset markets. The legislation, stalled since last year due to banking concerns over stablecoins and potential customer yields, is expected to go to a floor vote this week.
