Block, the payments company founded by Jack Dorsey, has launched Buzz, a free and open source platform where humans and AI agents share the same workspace. Built on the Nostr protocol, Buzz combines team chat, code repositories, and automated workflows in a single interface, giving each participant their own cryptographic identity. The platform is model-agnostic and supports agents powered by Anthropic’s Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, and Block’s own open source framework goose. Buzz is available under an Apache 2.0 license as version 0.4.21, with desktop builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux, while mobile clients are still under development. Block, which cut approximately 4,000 jobs in February, representing 40% of its workforce, developed the entire Buzz platform using AI agents.
