$16.3B Pension Fund Boosts Bitcoin Exposure

The Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, a $16.3 billion U.S. pension fund, has increased its Bitcoin exposure by boosting its holdings of Strategy (MSTR) stock to 21,300 shares, worth approximately $2.13 million. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, is the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder and uses capital raises and debt offerings to accumulate more BTC. This move illustrates the growing adoption of Bitcoin by traditional institutional investors, including retirement funds, which favor indirect exposure through publicly traded companies rather than direct cryptocurrency ownership. The fund’s position remains marginal compared to its total assets of $16.3 billion.
