Ripple CEO Urges Congress to Pass Clarity Act

Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, has renewed his support for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, urging lawmakers to advance the legislation despite political disagreements. Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, defended the bill as a consumer protection measure providing enhanced anti-money laundering and KYC compliance tools. Several Democratic senators, including Angela Alsobrooks, Cory Booker, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Ruben Gallego, oppose the latest version of the bill. The odds of passage this year have now fallen below 40%. Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, also backed the legislation, noting that the current regulatory framework has failed to protect American consumers and has driven much of the industry offshore.
