Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are set to unveil major HBM chip supply agreements with US technology companies during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s visit to Silicon Valley starting July 25, 2026. SK Hynix controls approximately 60% of the global HBM market revenue and is already the primary supplier for Nvidia’s latest GPUs. South Korea has announced a sweeping investment plan totaling $518 billion to build four new semiconductor fabrication plants. President Lee is scheduled to meet with Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, during a visit described as the culmination of negotiations that have been ongoing for months or even years.
