XRP Ledger developers are refining XLS-66, a proposed standard for native lending on the XRPL network. This specification describes an uncollateralized, fixed-term lending mechanism using single asset vaults and off-chain underwriting by loan brokers. The architecture combines off-chain credit assessment with on-chain execution via XRPL infrastructure. The feature is not yet live on mainnet and remains under standards review and code testing. If successful, this standard could strengthen XRPL’s DeFi profile by adding a direct role in credit markets.
