eToro Takes Strategic Stake in Onchain Derivatives Exchange Extended, Plans Zengo Tie-Up

eToro has taken a strategic stake in Extended, a perpetual futures exchange built on Starknet, with a funding round reportedly totaling $12.5 million according to CoinDesk. This partnership will combine Extended’s onchain derivatives platform with Zengo’s self-custody wallet, which eToro acquired in April for approximately $70 million. Extended, founded by former Revolut employees including former crypto head Ruslan Fakhrutdinov, supports over 100 markets spanning crypto, equities, foreign exchange and commodities. The goal is to allow Zengo users to access onchain perpetuals while maintaining control of their own assets. This move aligns with eToro’s strategy to bridge traditional finance with onchain infrastructure, as brokers like Robinhood also develop their own blockchain solutions.
