Bitcoin surges past $71,000 in Asia trading session while South Korean stock market crashes 18% this week

The South Korean stock market (KOSPI) closed near 5,094 after falling 12.06% in a single session today. The index had already fallen 7.24% the prior session, taking the two-day slide to roughly 18.4% on a compounded basis.
